Mr. Ralf Vollmering is the Member of the Board of Management of Europäisch-Iranische Handelsbank AG (eihbank), Hamburg, Germany.

He has a degree in law of the University of Bonn, Germany, and is an expert with over 30 years of experience in banking business. In this context he took over various leadership positions for

  • Deutsche Kreditbank AG, Berlin
  • Commerzbank AG, Berlin / Frankfurt
  • Investitionsbank of the federal state of Brandenburg (ILB), Potsdam, Germany, a Development Financing Institution (DFI), that – as the main promotional institute Investitionsbank – supports the State of Brandenburg and other public authorities in the performance of their tasks. ILB’s core business is the promotion of public and private investment projects in trade and industry, labour and the infrastructure and housing construction.
  • Europäisch-Iranische Handelsbank AG, Hamburg, Germany

 

Mr. Vollmering has a distinguished background in strategy development and implementation, and is adept at designing and executing strategies to optimise opportunities.

Having closely followed the impactful initiatives and contributions of ADFIAP in promoting sustainable development and economic growth across the Asia-Pacific region and beyond, Mr Vollmering is inspired by ADFIAP´s commitment to fostering collaboration and innovation among development financing institutions.

As eihbank is a proud member of ADFIAP since 2023, Mr Vollmering´s extensive experience in relevant issues of

  • DFI in Germany (he worked for more than 13 years for the business promotion bank in the federal state of Brandenburg)
  • cooperation of DFIs and Commercial Banks (supporting business partners in Germany, Iran and – becoming more important – the Asia-Pacific region with suitable support programmes and financing instruments as well as low-interest loans, subsidies and guarantees)
  • development of financial infrastructure and relevant models (for commercial companies and founders as well as agricultural and media companies), and
  • support for the improvement in the infrastructure sector (financing of projects by municipalities, municipal special-purpose associations, municipal enterprises as well as social institutions)

All this is alligned with ADFIAP’s mission and strategy.
